Scraplift Chain Challenge

At My Scrapbook Nook there are so many fun activities. Lately I joined the Scraplift Chain Challenge, which was so much fun. All 30 participants were divided into 5 teams. Every first participant of each team received the same layout (picked from the gallery) and had to scraplift that layout. Then number 2 of the team received the layout created by number 1 and had to scraplift that layout and so on untill participant number 6. So in the end there are 30 very different layouts, that all started with the same layout. In this thread you will find the first layout all teams started with and all 30 layouts that were created in this chain challenge.
This is the layout I made in this challenge, of course created with products from the Nook kit (January).
Thanks for stopping by!

My Mind's Eye Sketch

Once again I'm too late to participate in the challenge of My Mind's Eye, but I loved the sketch so I made the layout anyway. It also gave me the opportunity to use my last papers of MME and make room for all of the new fabulous collections that they came with! ;-) I used the Good Day Sunshine collection.
This is their sketch

And this is my take on it

My Scrapbook Nook February Kit

Time flies, we are half way February already. A new month means a new kit from My Scrapbook Nook. This month the kit was filled with October Afternoon Sasparilla. This is a collection that I probably would never buy myself, but that is what I like so much about this kit: it pushes you to work with the stuff you get. And trust me, Leah never dissapoints in her choices for the kits! I had one look at this kit and I thought this is one of the best collections for boy themed photo's, even if you don't want to use the cowboy stuff, there's plenty to use!

The first layout I want to show you, is about my 'little' brother. Last May he came home from his 6 month internship in Sidney, Australia. He had an amazing time overthere and I was really happy for him, but I couldn't help to feel even more happy to see him again after those long months. This photo of us is taken at the Amsterdam Airport, where we were anxiously waiting for him.

The second layout I'm going to share, was made for challenge #9 of the New year crop at My Scrapbook Nook. The challenge was to use a title of 10 words or more and YAY I won! I used one of the first photo's taken of baby Jan. When I saw this photo, the title was already in my head but I thought it would be a little long for a layout. And then this challenge came along....;-)

Mini album favourite food and drinks

I always like to think of how I can make a mini album different from all the others. A couple of weeks ago I was eating one of my favourite things: Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream. When the cup was empty I just took a look at it and thought: I can use this as a cover for a mini. I did have photo's of some of my favourite foods and drinks and I still had the BoBunny Sweet Tooth collection that I had not used yet. So there were a few good combinations! I cleaned the ice cup very well and started to try turning it into a cover. It took some measurements, but in the end I think it turned out pretty well. TFL!

Liebster Blog Award

Í have met my dear friend Sherri on the messageboard of My Scrapbook Nook. She is such a sweet and talented girl, who always has the nicest words for everyone. And now she nominated me for the Liebster Blog Award!

Liebster is German and means 'dearest' or 'beloved' but it can also mean 'favorite'. The idea of the Liebster award is to bring attention to blogs with less than 200 followers.
Thank you so much Sherri for nominating me! Whoever reads this, please take a look on Sherri's blog Growing up: in faith, love and scrappiness and leave her some love on my behalf. You will find many beautiful layouts and lots of inspiration on her blog.

One of the conditions in accepting the award is to pass it along to five more blogs. It was hard to pick just 5....
So, in the spirit of good fun I am passing this award on to five other bloggers. Please stop by and visit them!

Kate Vickers - Scrapsation
Shellye - The Papered Cottage
Marinette - Scraptherapie
Carol Monson - Happy are We
Zarah - Born under a paper moon

For those interested, the rules are:

1. Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
2. Reveal your five picks for the award and let them know.
3. Post the award on your blog.
4. Bask in the love from the most supportive people on the blogshare-other bloggers.
5. Finally and the best rule of all..........have fun and spread the love!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to leave some love on all the above mentioned blogs!!

Baby banner

My new born nephew (Jan) is already 1 week old now and he is so cute!! In 3 weeks we're going to throw him a baby party so everyone gets a chance to see him. His mommy asked me to make some decoration and a guestbook where everyone can right him a little message in. Yesterday a made the deco, which became a banner with his name and some photo's. I used Ellie's Tale collection from Sassafras. This collection is so cute for baby photo's and the colors match his room, so maybe I'll find this banner in his room after the party...;-)

So now the decoration is done, I'm off to start on the guestbook. I've got the Simple Stories Baby Steps collection for that one.
TFL!
